ToughDrive Sports is the name of a new external hard drive from Freecom, with a target group of users who have requirements for good durability.
A typical cheap external hard drive can withstand usually not very much.Releasing it to the floor, it may put off completely. But ToughDrive Sports will manage a case on two feet without any problems. In addition, the protection against, what Freecom in the press release calls, bad weather. The size is 16 x 9 x 2 inches and weighs 260 grams.
ToughDrive is based on a hard drive in the 2.5-inch size, which means you do not need an external power supply. The device requires a power that comes from the USB connection. The actual USB cable is integrated, so you do not have to carry around one.
Freecom Hard Drive is available with capacities of 250 GB, 320 GB and 500 GB and has a price tag starting at 1200 SEK.
